Unread counts in the sidebar now persist across sessions — messages that arrive while you're offline are still flagged when you come back.
Cleaner state machine, faster connect, clearer status messages ("Calling…", "User offline", "No answer", "Call declined"), and a fix for chat-mute that was getting clobbered by the call-mute toggle.
